How does the Administrator notify Gracious Fade when a Member passed?

First, login. Click Notify of Passing. The site will direct you to Administration - Select Member Account to Administer. Select Member that passed. You can complete the Eulogy and Funeral information by clicking the relevant tabs.

Last, click the Notification of Passing tab, enter Date of Passing – click Send Notification. Review information and click Send Notification to finalize.

How do I complete my Gracious Fade entry?

To complete your entry so that you are prepared for all eventualities, you should do the following:

  • Go to the "My Profile" tab
  • Select whether you want your Memorial Page to be public or private
  • Add your Beneficiaries, including your Administrator
  • Create the written messages you wish to add to your profile
  • Upload the photographs you wish to add to your profile
  • If you are a Premium Member, then upload the audio messages and video(s) you wish to add to your profile
  • Complete your "Bucket List"
  • Answer "Life's Questions"

All of the above profile entries will be used to create your Memorial Page. Upon confirmation of your passing by your Administrator, your Memorial Page can be viewed by the public or can be viewed by your selected Beneficiaries only. From the Memorial Page, the public or your selected Beneficiaries only will be able to view all of your profile information.

What are Gracious Fade "Beneficiaries"?

Gracious Fade Beneficiaries are the Members selected by you who will have access to your Memorial Page upon confirmation of your passing by your Administrator. If you choose to make your Memorial Page public, then anyone who visits the Gracious Fade site may gain access to your Memorial Page.

What is a Gracious Fade "Administrator"?

Your Administrator is the one Beneficiary selected by you to notify Gracious Fade of your passing. After your Administrator notifies Gracious Fade of your passing, your Administrator will be responsible for "administering" your Memorial Page. Your Administrator can write your eulogy, inform other Beneficiaries of your passing and confirm the location of your bereavement services. The Administrator will perform all of these functions by selecting the Notification of Passing tab.

Who should I select as my "Administrator"?

You should select someone you trust to truthfully report your passing to Gracious Fade. Your Administrator should also be someone you trust to administer your Memorial Page and to notify other Beneficiaries of your passing. To avoid the possibility of "simultaneous death" scenarios, you should consider selecting someone who is not an immediate family member.

How does Gracious Fade confirm my passing prior to releasing my Memorial Page and profile?

Gracious Fade relies upon your Administrator to truthfully report your passing.

What is the difference between the "public" and "private" options for my Memorial Page?

Public: After your Administrator confirms your passing, if you selected the "public" option in your profile page, then your Memorial Page and profile will be viewable by anyone who enters your name into the Gracious Fade search box.

Private: After your Administrator confirms your passing, if you selected the "private" option in your profile page, then your Memorial Page and profile will only be viewable by your selected Beneficiaries.

How does the Facebook link work?

If you provide your Facebook link in your profile page, then after your passing is confirmed by your Administrator, your Beneficiaries will have direct access to your Facebook page via the Gracious Fade link.

Nothing in your Memorial Page or profile will ever be posted to your Facebook page by Gracious Fade.

How do I find my Facebook profile link?

  • Logon to your Facebook account.
  • Click on your name at the top of the screen.
  • Copy the link from the address bar to the input box for Facebook link in your Gracious Fade profile.

Nothing in your Gracious Fade Memorial Page or profile will ever be posted to Facebook.

How does the LinkedIn link work?

If you provide your LinkedIn link in your profile page, then after your passing is confirmed by your Administrator, your Beneficiaries will have direct access to your LinkedIn page via the Gracious Fade link.

"Life's Questions" is a list of questions that help define the person that you are.

How can I view a Gracious Fade Member's public Memorial Page and profile?

To view public Memorial Pages and profiles, click on the "In Memoriam Search" header tab and enter the last name of a departed Member into the search box.

How can I view a Gracious Fade Member's private Memorial Page and profile?

In order to view a Gracious Fade Member's private Memorial Page and profile, you must have been selected as a Beneficiary by the departed Member and have registered with Gracious Fade. To view a private Memorial Page and profile, you must be logged-on to the Gracious Fade site. From the "In Memoriam Search" page, enter the last name of the departed Member (for whom you are a Beneficiary) into the search box.

What is the "Heroes" Premium Upgrade?

Gracious Fade recognizes the sacrifices of U.S. service members, law enforcement personnel and firefighters.

In recognition of their sacrifices, Gracious Fade offers a free one-year premium account upgrade to the men and women dedicated to these professions.

How does a U.S. service member, law enforcement officer or firefighter qualify for the "Heroes" Premium Upgrade?

In order to qualify for a free one-year "Heroes" premium account upgrade, enlisted U.S. service members, law enforcement personnel and firefighters must first register for a free Gracious Fade basic account. Gracious Fade will then verify your submitted information and confirm your free premium account upgrade via the official email address that you provide. If your email is in the .mil domain, then simply respond to our email confirmation and you will be automatically upgraded to a free one-year premium account. If your email is not in the .mil domain, ( e.g., .gov) then your email address and departmental information will be reviewed.

Why does Gracious Fade need my ".mil" or ".gov" address?

Gracious Fade needs this information if you are applying for a free "Heroes" premium upgrade. Gracious Fade will only use your ".mil" or ".gov" address one time to verify that you are a U.S. military member, law enforcement officer or firefighter.

How can I be sure that my Gracious Fade Memorial Page and profile will be protected?

Safety and security of your personal information is of the highest priority for Gracious Fade. We use SSL encryption and all passwords are stored in encrypted form. Not even Gracious Fade personnel are able to see an un-encrypted password. Therefore, if you forget your password, you must reset your password by using the "Forgot Your Password" option on the login screen. An email will be sent to you to complete the reset.
